Light therapy What is it ?

Light therapy belongs to the large family of phototherapies that employ light sources in order to treat various afflictions.
Here we are dealing with light therapy that subjects the eyes to light that contains no ultraviolet or infrared components.
We will refer to LUMINOTHERAPY (LIGHT THERAPY), PHOTOTHERAPY, LUXTHERAPY OR BRIGHT LIGHT THERAPY.
In keeping with standard dosage, the usual exposure times for a single session are as follows:

  • ½ hour for a 10 000 Lux lamp.

  • 1 hour for a 5 000 Lux lamp.

  • 2 hours for a 2 500 Lux lamp.

For each of these three exposure times, the recommended distance will vary according to the type of apparatus used, and is specified by the manufacturer.
